Welcome to the Books Unlimited help section. If you can't find an answer to your question please contact us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Logging On
You can log on to BooksUnlimited.ie as part of the order process by entering your email address and selecting whether you are a returning or new customer.
As a new customers a password will be automatically created and emailed to you, returning customers simply enter their password here. After this initial step you will be brought to the shipping details, where you can continue your order process or click ‘Shop for More’ to continue your shopping!
As a returning customer you can also log on via the Account Login page where you will be asked to enter your email address and password.
Book Search
If you already know the title or author of the book you want to buy, you can begin searching via the search box on the top of every page. Type in the title, author's name, or, if you know it, the ISBN of the book, select the corresponding option and click GO.
Alternatively, if you want to browse our online bookshop, you can select featured products on our homepage, or search by category simply by clicking through to your field of interest, e.g. Biography & Literature » Literature: Texts » and so on.
Selection:
Once you have found the listing of the book you want, click on the book's title or image. To place your order, click Add to Cart. Check the title, price and quantity in your cart.
If you want to change the number of copies of a particular title you want to buy, highlight the number in the Quantity box with a click of your mouse, type in the number of copies you require and click on Remove/Update. Once you are satisfied with the contents of your cart, you can choose Checkout to proceed to the order form, or Shop for More as required.
Order:
If you click Checkout it will bring you to the Shipping Details page. Fill in the form with all relevant details (fields marked * are obligatory) or select a shipping address from a previous order. If the Billing Address is same as your shipping address, tick 'My billing address will be the same as the shipping address' and click Continue. Else enter your billing address at the next stage before clicking Continue.
You can now review your order details, shipping and billing addresses and make necessary amendments. You can also enter a message in the Leave a message to the recipient box if you wish. Press Continue to finish order process.
Cancellation:
At any point in the process, if you decide you don't want to continue click the Cancel button.Payment:
Select your preferred payment method; credit card and debit card. We do not accept cheques.
If your are paying by card, enter your credit card number, name and the card's expiration date and 3 digit security code. Click Complete Order. You will be brought to an order confirmation page, confirming details of your order. You will also receive an email to confirm your order.
Gift Wrapping:
Gift wrapping costs €3 per order. It includes gift-wrapping of the whole order as one gift.

Delivery rates are based on your shipping zone and the number of books you buy. Standard/registered postal rates are indicated below by "/".

General Books
Dispatch: Your order will be dispatched within 3-4 working days*
Postal: Standard delivery is non-urgent by courier service and takes approx 1-2 working days from dispatch within Ireland.
Delivery: The total delivery time will therefore be 4-6 working days from when you order online.
School Books
Dispatch: Your order will be dispatched within 8-10 working days**
Postal: Standard delivery is non-urgent by courier service and takes approx 1-2 working days from dispatch within Ireland.
Delivery: The total delivery time will therefore be 9-12 working days from when you order online.
UK:
UK Special Delivery – €6 for first two books
Dispatch: Your order will be dispatched within 3-4 working days.
Postal (from dispatch): Standard post 5-6 working days. Registered post 2-3 working days.
EU:
Dispatch: Your order will be dispatched within 3-4 working days.
Postal (from dispatch): Standard post 5-6 working days. Registered post 3-4 working days.
Rest of World:
Dispatch: Your order will be dispatched within 3-4 working days
Postal (from dispatch): Standard post 5-6 working days. Registered post 6-9 working days.
* If your order is out of stock, we will email you with an expected dispatch date. If dispatch is delayed by more than 14 days, you may contact us to cancel your order. Feel free to query your order at any stage.
** Dispatch of school books may be considerably less if you are only ordering one book and it is in stock. If we are fulfilling an order for a full book list for example the dispatch time will be 8-10 working days.
Price:
The price is as advertised on the website at time of order.
Returns & Refunds:
We guarantee the book you purchase will reach you in good condition. If it doesn't arrive in a satisfactory condition, or you do not want to keep it for any reason, please return the item to us (within 30 days of receipt) and we will replace, or refund the full cost of the book. Shipping and handling expenses are not subject to refund unless the book was damaged, or we shipped you the wrong product. If so, we will absorb the costs to send you the correct item. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Security & Rights:
At Books Unlimited we are committed to protecting your privacy. Be assured that we keep all personal information submitted to us in the strictest confidence. When you order, we need to know your name, e-mail address, delivery address, credit, or debit card number and the card's expiry date. This allows us to process and fulfil your orders and to notify you of the status of your order. We also ask for your telephone number, which enables us to contact you quickly if there is a problem with your order.
Credit Card Security:
When you place an order, we use a secure server. The secure server software (SSL) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us.
We use encryption technology to keep your personal information safe and we do not release it to any outside organisation. Your contact and credit card information is transmitted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, provided through Verisign. This technology is the industry standard for secure online transactions. This 128-bit encryption ensures that your online transaction and credit card information are safe from third party interception.
When you are placing an order through our secured web environment, you will see the lock icon on the bottom of your web browser will become locked (as opposed to un-locked). This ensures that your information is being processed in a secure environment.
